Making the call!

This week 46 candidates were called and offered positions in Albuquerque Fire Rescue’s 104th Cadet Class.

The hiring process started with over 300 candidates. After physical agility testing, a written examination and individual interviews, the pool was narrowed to 103 eligible candidates for Chief’s Selection and the 46 available positions.

The EMT-Basic portion of the 104th Cadet Class will start in July. Candidates who successfully complete the 8-week EMT-Basic portion will move on to the 18-week Fire Academy phase of cadet training.

Making the call to offer eager candidates a job that many have dreamed of is an honor. This is just one of many milestones to come in the pursuit of becoming a sworn member of Albuquerque Fire Rescue. Congratulations and welcome.
