What type of person should take a coding bootcamp?
Someone with a willingness to learn.
You don’t need to have all the answers or a technical background to get started. What matters is showing up ready to try, to struggle through challenges, to ask questions, and to keep going when things don’t click right away.
Technology changes fast. The people who succeed are the ones who stay curious, adapt, and keep building their skills over time.
If you’re willing to learn, you’re already on the right path.

At just 19, Julian Martinez-Baca is already making an impact where it matters most. After experiencing two motorcycle accidents and realizing emergency alerts didn’t always work, he set out to create a better solution. Through CNM Ingenuity’s Internet of Things (IoT) Bootcamp, Julian developed a sensor prototype that can detect a crash and instantly notify loved ones—offering riders an added layer of safety when they need it most.
From learning rapid prototyping and C++ to presenting his device to local leaders and safety organizations, Julian is turning personal experience into meaningful innovation. And he’s not stopping there—he’s continuing to refine his device while advocating for stronger motorcyclist education to help prevent accidents in the first place.
His journey is a reminder that with the right support and determination, bold ideas can lead to real change.
