"Intersection: Interdisciplinary Approaches to New Testament Text and Manuscript Studies" by Daniel B. Wallace and Denis L. Salgado

Introduction
In May 2024, the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts (CSNTM) held its second Text & Manuscript Conference in Plano, Texas. The symposium’s theme was “intersection,” referring to the intersection of the study of the New Testament text within related fields. This book is a result of that conference.

The book consists of nine chapters divided into two sections. The first section is “Intersections in Early Christianity,” and the second section is “Intersections in the Medieval Period and Beyond.”

Chapter 1 is the longest, spanning fifty-eight pages (pp. 3–61) and occupying over a quarter of the book (Chapter 9 ends on page 201). The chapter is “The New Testament in the Second Century: Intersecting Lines of Evidence” by Paul Foster. In this chapter, Foster considers a few lines of evidence of New Testament books from the second century. Foster takes a low view of the New Testament that he announces in the beginning:

One misnomer that needs to be addressed at the outset of this discussion is that at no stage of the second century, especially not at the beginning of that period nor even a hundred years later, did there exist a “New Testament” as it would become known from the fourth century onward.
