Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program

Homeward bound - thank you, Washington, DC! You did not disappoint, and we were honored to represent Albuquerque in our nation’s Capitol this past week!

What a gorgeous (if warm) day to see our nation’s Capitol! And as we stood in line, we could hear and see the US Air Force Thunderbirds flying overhead. Very inspiring morning, and a fitting preparation for a patriotic performance this evening at the Warner Theater. Let Freedom Ring!

More of yesterday’s adventures on one of by hottest days of record in Washington, D.C. Our chaperones kept us hydrated, and our wonderful tour guides paced the day perfectly so we were not outside during the hottest part of the day. Our concert this evening at the Warner Theater is almost sold out! But there are still a few seats left, if you’re in the area and want to hear some great music from American composers. Join us!

Belated post from our tour farewell concert on Monday - these student musicians have worked hard and are excited to represent AYSP, the State of New Mexico, and dedicated student musicians all across the country on the national stage as we head to Washington DC for an EPIC birthday party for our country.
