π Amazon's Bedrock generative AI service launch is making waves!
Allowing AWS customers to personalize AI models with their data, Bedrock enables them to create AI "agents" for tasks like travel booking and inventory management, all via an intuitive API. Soon, Llama 2 from Meta joins Bedrock's AI lineup, alongside AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Cohere, and Stability AI models.
Amazon takes pride in being the first to offer Llama 2 with both 13-billion and 70-billion parameters in a "fully managed generative AI service." This integration uniquely pairs with AWS services, including secure connections through AWS PrivateLink.
Amazon's innovation extends to its Titan Embeddings model, converting text into numerical representations for search and personalization. Supporting 25 languages and processing text of around 6,000 words, it competes with the latest OpenAI embeddings.

π Which Scoring Is Good? π€
Now that you know how scoring is performed and why it is done, letβs consider a trickier question: how can we tell if our scoring is good? To find the answer and give explanations, weβll have to draw yet another analogy from the banking sector. π°
Banks can change their credit score threshold depending on the circumstances. Larger, more affluent banks can approve a loan for a borrower with a lower credit score. Smaller ones, however, will only lend to highly reliable individuals since they canβt afford to take risks. The same logic applies to email marketing. Sometimes, a score of 100 is enough for a subscriber to be on a mailing list. And sometimes, even a score of 400 is below the threshold. Every website is unique and has a one-of-a-kind subscriber dynamic. To make the final decision, algorithms take numerous factors into account, including the situation on the website, its mailing resources, and the business strategy. Are we interested in growing our subscriber list or consistent performance? The final decision depends on the answer to this question, as well as many others. π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ

Scoring is akin to assessing engagement, derived from the verb "to score." When we apply this concept to email marketing, we're essentially appraising our subscribers' engagement with the emails we send out. The score we assign reflects the level of engagement, helping us identify the most active subscribersβthose who frequently open emails and click through.
Just like when you want to take out a loan, banks assess your creditworthiness and give you a credit score, say 100 or 300 out of 800, based on specific criteria. In email marketing, scoring works similarly. If a subscriber's score tops the threshold for a certain website, they are considered engaged. They show high potential for opening and clicking, making them ideal for inclusion in mailing campaigns.
This scoring system allows us to make smarter choices when creating our email campaigns. It's about focusing our efforts on those with higher scores, engaging with them more and optimizing our campaigns. Just like in lending, where credit scores determine loan approval, scoring in email marketing helps us tailor our content to the right audience, ensuring our emails hit the mark.
Remember, these scores are unique to each website. A subscriber may have different scores for different platforms they're subscribed to. π
