ICYMI: Yesterday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced its authorization of ZYN ni****ne pouches to be marketed as less harmful to human health than ci******es. Although these products do not contain to***co, they do contain ni****ne—an addictive chemical that can harm adolescent brain development and lead to future ni****ne product use.
ZYN products will now include this risk modification claim: "Using ZYN instead of ci******es puts you at a lower risk of mouth cancer, heart disease, lung cancer, stroke, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.” While safer than ci******es, no ni****ne product is risk-free, and this new messaging could appeal to young people—putting them and their long-term health at risk.

Wondering whether your go-to bug repellent is impacting your health? The good news is that most consumer bug sprays rely on a group of well-studied active ingredients that are safe when used as directed.
One of the most commonly used ingredients in repellents is DEET. This chemical has been on the market for decades—and has never been linked to an increased risk of cancer. Have more questions about what's in your bug spray and how to protect your skin? Check out the link in the comments for more.
