Sierra Leone is a small country located in the west coast of Africa. It is bounded by Guinea and Liberia. It has a population of about seven million people. Freetown is the capital and is located at the west part of the country. As a result of the long civil war which the country suffered, there was a larger influx of people into the capital city. Due to this large influx of people, the city has become densely populated. This population has had an adverse effect on the living condition of the majority of the people. The poor living condition of the city inhabitants has led to various things that have been perpetrated against women and children over the years.
Global Partners for Community Development is a nongovernmental organization and non-profitable organization with a vision to support communities that are being marginalized and deprived.
Our aim is to improve the water, environment, health and sensitization in our communities. The main goal of this organization is to enhance the health, environment and social status of its members and communities at all times.
Kroo Bay is a community that is located in the western part of the city.
This community is also found along the coastal area of the Atlantic Ocean. The predominant occupation of the people is fishing and petty trading. The community is one of the most deprived and impoverished community in the in Freetown. The community is prone to violence and gang-related atrocities with a lot of ghettoes where harmful are being sold.
