Thank you to the The Salvation Army USA for dropping off donuts on National Donut Day! While here they shared a story about the Salvation Army’s Donut Lassies serving the troops in WWI and how it became a symbol of comfort and care. Pretty cool back story to National Donut Day that we thought you all would enjoy. Have a great and safe weekend Algonquin Community and friends!

This week, the Algonquin Police Department proudly recognizes and celebrates our outstanding civilian personnel who serve our community with professionalism, dedication, and compassion every day.

While sworn officers are often the most visible members of our department, our civilian staff are the backbone of many essential operations. From records specialists and administrative professionals to communications personnel and support staff, these dedicated individuals ensure that our department runs efficiently and effectively while providing exceptional service to our residents.
Their hard work, expertise, and commitment help us fulfill our mission of keeping Algonquin safe and maintaining the high level of service our community expects and deserves.
Please join us in thanking our civilian personnel for their invaluable contributions to the Algonquin Police Department and the Village of Algonquin. We are grateful for everything you do!
Thank you for your service, dedication, and commitment to our community.

Last Wednesday Chief Walker, Sergeant Sowizrol, Officer Peters, Officer Burroughs, and Officer Ortiz attended the Kane County Police Memorial presented by the Kane County Chiefs of Police Association at Mooseheart. The memorial recognizes and remembers the officers who have lost their lives in service to the residents of their respective communities in Kane County. May we never forget their service and sacrifice.
