I am very proud to share that my image was the cover of PPA magazine this month!

I am just so excited, as this was always a goal of mine! I can't wait till it gets here in the mail, and can't wait to send a copy to Andrea and Sean!

This year has been amazing thus far and I can't wait to see what else it bring me!

Our June cover image, "Elation," was captured by Carol DeAnda, M. Photog. M. Wed. Photog. Cr., CPP of DeAnda Photography in Algonquin, Illinois. The image was taken in February outside the wedding venue in Lake Barrington, Illinois, where freezing cold temperatures added to the already high-pressure nature of a sparkler exit. To achieve the effect, a slower shutter speed was used to allow the ambient sparkler light to register, while a zoom burst technique (zooming the lens during the exposure) created the dynamic, energetic feel you see in the final image. An assistant held a Godox AD200 in a Magsphere on a Cheetah stand to light the couple and freeze the motion.

I took last week off to recharge, and I came back inspired.

This week's blog was sparked by one of my favorite sessions in a long time, and if you've seen the images, you know exactly why.

I'm switching gears from my corporate and event work to talk about family work, and specifically what happens when you strip everything back and keep things simple.
