Come out and support Jolee and Venus at their Lemonade Booth tomorrow at the Alice Farmers Market! This will be their 3rd booth, and they are really getting the hang of it!

They juice the lemons, make lemonade, cook down the fruits and make reductions for add in flavors, and make the cookies.

They pay for their own supplies, set up their booth, take their own orders, make the lemonades, handle their money, and make change.

They pay back any loans, set money aside for their next market supplies, split the money up for their profits, and break down and clean up. They collaborate and make decisions together. They both bring items needed for their market.

What they do with their money after that is up to them individually. Lol. I think Venus is a saver and Jolee is a spender. But, I do know that Jolee uses a big chunk of hers to contribute to her gymnastics competition fees. Then, she supports the local economy with the rest. Ha.

But that means this endeavor and partnership, sparked from a cooking class they both took at the farm, has turned into something big. Something more.

It is a entrepreneurial opportunity.

It is a homeschool lesson...math, home ec, marketing, customer service, money handling, saving, investing, food safety (Jolee even got her food handlers card), and more.

It is a fundraiser.

It is being part of the local food ecosystem.

It is using best practices and best ingredients.

It is economics.

It is partnership.

It is work and reward.

It is responsibility.

And it is also really darn tasty. Lol. And yes, they do drink up part of their profits. Ha.

They have their very own booth at the market every single month, the 2nd Saturday. Set up next to Serendipity Mini Farm and across from Coastal Bend Homestead. Under the watch of their mamas in those booths. But not to make sure they are doing it right. Just to make sure everyone ELSE is. Because these girls got it. And we are loving watching them grow. In life, in friendship, in education, AND in business. 💛💚💛💚💛
