Over 65 Years And Going Strong.
The institution now known as Friendly Federal Credit Union was founded in 1955 as the Jones and Laughlin Steel Corporation Service Department Employees Federal Credit Union. The Jones and Laughlin By-Products and Seamless divisions, along with the local chapter of United Steelworkers also joined the institution at that point in time. In 1986, the credit union officially changed its name and became known as Friendly Federal Credit Union. In 2013, Friendly Federal Credit Union acquired the former WYSE Credit Union in Baden, PA and at that point in time began to operate two locations, including the main office on Main Street in Aliquippa, PA and a branch office on State Street in Baden. Currently, Friendly Federal Credit Union has assets of over 53 million, and has a membership of around 5000 people.
Key people include Cynthia Hladio, who serves as Chief Executive Officer and manager. Phyllis Heckman manages the Baden branch office. Carl E. Hennen is the chairman of the board of directors and Ed Murphy is the treasurer. Other board member directors include Lynn Nero, Helen Pane, Sue Ronosky, Amy Walker and Deanna Ross.
Notable achievements include receiving the Bauer Financial Five Star Rating for Exceptional Performance every year since 2001.
