While Scrum Masters are known for their sharp observational skills, their primary responsibility is to identify team challenges and facilitate solutions—not to micromanage or act as taskmasters. They help the Scrum team navigate obstacles and ensure tasks are on track, but they do not direct the team, compile reports, or relay statuses to stakeholders. Instead, a Scrum Master focuses on promoting transparency, fostering collaboration, and enabling the team to embrace empiricism. Their role is about empowering the team, not controlling it.

A Scrum Master must remain impartial and avoid favoring any team member. Acting as a neutral facilitator, especially during conflicts, is essential for fostering a healthy team environment.
