Notary Tip: Don't ignore your scanner's maintenance alerts.

Today I replaced the feed pad on my portable scanner after it displayed a maintenance notification on both the scanner and computer.

Nothing was broken, it was simply time for routine maintenance.

As a mobile notary or loan signing agent, your scanner is one of the most important tools in your business.

Keeping up with scheduled maintenance helps extend the life of your equipment, improve performance, and prevent unexpected issues when you're working with clients.

FAXBACK = SCANBACK

Loan Signing Agents, this is one of those terms you need to know before you accept signing appointments.

A faxback is basically the same thing as a scanback.

It means after the signing is complete, you'll need to scan certain documents and send them back for review before you ship the package.

Why does this matter?

Because scanbacks help catch mistakes early, like:
