Race Recaps Are Free Marketing. Most Teams Don't Use Them.

If you race and you're not writing a recap after every event, you're leaving attention on the table. Free attention. The kind you can't buy.

Here's what I mean. Race fans don't just want to see you win. They want the behind-the-scenes stuff. What broke. What you fixed in the pits at 11pm. What it felt like coming off the track pi**ed off because the car wouldn't handle right. That's the content people actually stop scrolling for.

Social media is where that story gets attention. But attention on Instagram or Facebook doesn't pay your bills. It just gets people curious. The real job is funneling that curiosity somewhere it can turn into something.

That somewhere is your website.

A recap post on social media should always point back to a recap on your site. Not because the website needs more pretty content. Because that's where the next step happens.

Once someone lands on your website after reading your story:
- A potential sponsor can actually see who you are, what you're doing, and how to get involved instead of guessing
- A race fan who just fell in love with your story can buy a shirt or hat if you sell merch
- You've got a permanent home for that story instead of it disappearing into a social feed in 48 hours

That last point matters more than people think. Social media buries everything fast. Your website doesn't. A good recap lives there forever, building a record of who you are as a team, race after race.

I see teams chase sponsors with cold pitches and wonder why nobody bites. Meanwhile, they haven't posted a single update about their last three races. Sponsors want to see momentum and story. Recaps are literally free proof of both.

You don't need to be a writer. You don't need fancy production. You just need to tell people what happened, how it felt, and what's next. Do it consistently and your website stops being a brochure nobody visits and starts being the place your story actually lives.

DM me if you want this for your team.
