The Fourth of July in Alpena is always a great time of year to highlight local creative talents. This year, Aaron Golbeck, an Alpena native, returned to the area to continue his downtown mural series.
Aaron had the idea to bring fresh mural art to the Alpena community back in 2019. His only goal was to create something that people could enjoy. Since then, his work has helped to kick off Alpena’s growing art scene, and more and more murals have been popping up around town.
The vibrant trout Aaron painted this year was inspired by Alpena’s upcoming Michigan Brown Trout Festival.
