In the early morning hours of Saturday, October 18th, Alpine Fire Department responded to a report of smoke and flames visible from a commercial building in the 1600 block of W US Hwy 90.
Upon arrival, crews found a large work shed, adjoining to a commercial structure, had significant fire involvement. Marathon Volunteer Fire Department was requested for mutual aid.
Fire crews worked quickly to contain and extinguish the blaze, successfully preventing the fire from spreading through the entire structure. Although the fire extended into one storefront, it was contained before the area became fully involved. Fortunately, all businesses were closed and unoccupied at the time.
We would like to thank Marathon Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance in knocking down the fire and helping with overhaul operations.

Today, we solemnly remember the lives lost and the heroes who rose on September 11, 2001. Alpine Fire Rescue honors the bravery of the firefighters and first responders who ran towards danger to save others, many making the ultimate sacrifice. We reflect on the resilience of our nation and the strength of our community as we stand united in remembrance. Let us hold close the memory of that day, keeping those affected in our hearts, and committing ourselves to serving and protecting others everyday.

With the return of mild temperatures, many of us are firing up the grill.
Alpine Fire reminds you to keep safety in mind: Give your grill at least three feet of space from homes, decks, and children; keep it clean to avoid flare-ups; and let coals cool fully before tossing them out.
A little caution goes a long way in preventing grilling accidents!
