Lillian found her place across several corners of AHS — Photography, Marching and Concert Band, LD Debate, a variety of other UIL events, and writing for El Toro, the school newspaper 📰💪🏽
🍎 Favorite Teacher
Lillian's favorite is Mrs. Wash, her 4th grade history teacher who she has crossed paths with in every school building since. "She saw potential in me and helped me find my confidence in academics. With the help of her initial push I challenged myself and believed in my abilities." And to Mrs. Wash directly — "love you, and thank you for everything you taught me and the confidence you gave me throughout the years." 💛❤️
⭐ Favorite Moment
Sophomore year, Region 6 marching contest, under Director Mrs. Holmes. After a disappointing loss the year before, the band waited in nervous anticipation as scores were announced — Alpine called last. "Alpine High School…1." A Division One rating, advancing to Area. "The band members jumped up screaming in excitement... we all met in the middle of the parking lot cheering and crying. It was such an amazing feeling of camaraderie between us." 🎶🏆 That's the payoff of a year of hard work, right there.
🔮 Plans After Graduation
Lillian is continuing her education in college, with her sights set on an English degree and possibly journalism or advertising 📝✏️ She has already built real skills in photography, InDesign, and news writing — and has published articles in both the school paper and the Sul Ross Skyline. Wherever she lands, she's bringing a real head start with her 🏔️🎓

Open to youth ages 4–17, with scholarships available to help ensure every child has the opportunity to play. If cost is a barrier, BBYSA encourages families to apply.
