Ed Friendly Sulcata Tortoise

Dangers of rat poison ☠️ . Graphic picture in comments.
This week I discovered my 86 lb sulcatta tortoise 🐢 weak. I saw him regurgitate (which I didn’t think was posible) food that he had eaten 5 days before. Shortly thereafter he started coughing blood🩸 from his mouth and nostrils. I immediately took him to the vet. He has liver damage and a gastrointestinal infection quite posibly from exposure to rat 🐀 poison. Please note, we do not use any sort of rat poison but he must of had exposure to a dead animal resulting from rat poison. As a result our 20 year family member has been coughing blood for 3 days and the vet just found a hole in his stomach. Our sulcatta tortoise 🐢 , Ed is now suffering from this cruel exposure and it is uncertain if he will make it. He is suffering, our family is suffering and now we are spending an incredible amount in vet bills trying to save his life.
Please stop using rat poison! it is extremely cruel and irresponsible.
Please no rude comments, judgments or victim blaming. Our family is going through enough and hope we can all learn from this tragedy.
