Hieroglyphics Yoga

Black History Month has come with much needed and well deserved nourishment. A cooling hydration for an environment that seems set on a fiery and heated existence. So I welcome this wet reprieve and give thanks for the deep moisturizing we so desperately need.

This month I’m entering into a semi-teaching hiatus while I work on Hieroglyphics Yoga offerings and platforms. I’m bunkered down in my home office (mat & couch included) meditating and manifesting the vision for us to move forward and deeper into our collective and shared practice. As one of your yoga teachers and guide, I must always listen to the divine guidance and be open to opportunities for growth. Growth that starts with me.

Mondays Meditation meets at 6:30 - 7:15p online and will remain on the schedule, even though Saturdays @ Saturn: Mvmt is on pause. This class is gentle and repetitive movement to help unwind the body, and soften the joints, breathing exercises to meet the moment, and guided meditaiton. I’ve been blessed with a big family. My father Rest Peacefully 🙏🏿💛✨, is one of 13 children, my mother is the baby of 16.

I loved being a child in these expansive California, Ohio/Indiana, Mississippi families.

Now that I am grandmother, it’s taken on another significance

My Moore family is burying my father’s brother, Uncle Arthur, BKA Uncle AJ this Saturday morning. Seems like we’re having funerals and celebrations of life at least once a year now. If it ain’t my Daddy’s side, it’s my Mama’s.

This is life. Knowing that one day it will end as we know it. I am supremely grateful for the security, the love, and the joy I carry being a member of two great tribes. I am so thankful for our lives, our memories, and those to come.

But this part is sobering. Melancholy= joy x sorrow at once.

Heart open and eyes to the sky I’m practicing presence, listening more carefully to the ever growing wisdom of the ancestors and living as they guide me and The Creator would have me go.
