SCSO detectives are conducting a homicide investigation in the 1000 block of Crayton Ridge Dr. in Cordova. At around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, deputies responded to a welfare check. When deputies arrived, they found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds inside the residence. Shelby County fire responded and pronounced the victim later identified as Joshua Jones, 42 deceased. During the investigation, detectives identified Dennis Fentress, 18, as a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest in connection with the homicide.
