The Panhandle Firefighters & Fire Marshals Association extends its sincere appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the 135th Annual Convention. Through the support of our partners, volunteers, and attendees, this year’s convention was both productive and memorable.
We would like to begin by thanking Cactus Cove Inn & Suites for hosting our event, and the American Quarter Horse Association for generously allowing the use of their parking facilities for our pumper games. We also extend our appreciation to the Amarillo College First Responders Academy for hosting our Friday training sessions.
Thank you to Canyon Country Club for accommodating our annual golf tournament, and to Randall County Fire Department and Potter County Fire Department for providing water tankers for the pumper games. We also appreciate Lifestar 1 for landing at the AQHA on Saturday and contributing to the overall experience.
We are grateful to Desperados for catering Saturday evening’s meal, and to the Brothers Keepers Motorcycle Club for preparing Saturday’s lunch, generously sponsored by Code 3.
Our sincere thanks go out to all vendors who showcased their equipment and merchandise, and to every sponsor whose generous donations and financial contributions made this convention possible. We would like to recognize Past President Jason Neill for his dedication and hard work in coordinating vendors and sponsors. Additionally, we commend Mascot Jadon Cross and Sweetheart Evlyn Watts for raising an impressive $1,545 in support of the PFFMA Scholarship Fund.
The Panhandle Firefighters & Fire Marshals Association proudly congratulates Captain Larry Yaws of the Randall County Fire Department on being named 2026 PFFMA Firefighter of the Year, and FF/EMT Jeremy Brubacher of Hartley Volunteer Fire & EMS on being recognized as 2026 PFFMA EMS Provider of the Year. These honors reflect their outstanding dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving their communities. Both individuals exemplify the highest standards of the fire and EMS service through their hard work, leadership, and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty. Their efforts make a lasting impact, and we are proud to recognize them for their well-deserved achievements.
Congratulations to our newly elected 4th Vice President, Jacob Clifton, and to our new Mascot, Jaxon Watts. We also extend our appreciation to the State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas Executive Board, the 4th Vice President candidates, VFIS of Texas, and the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office for their participation and continued support.
Finally, thank you to every individual who attended and contributed to making this convention a success. Your involvement and commitment are what continue to strengthen our organization and it does not go unnoticed.
