InfantRisk Center
The world's leading research center for medication safety during pregnancy and lactation.
This Memorial Day weekend, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We are deeply grateful for their sacrifice and for the families who carry that legacy every day. 🇺🇸
As many families gather this weekend, we also wanted to share a resource we commonly get questions about: alcohol and breastfeeding.
Our “Time to Zero” alcohol calculator helps estimate how long alcohol remains in breast milk based on your individual situation and can help support informed feeding decisions.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend from all of us at InfantRisk.

Last month our Director, Dr. Kaytlin Krutsch visited the FDA’s White Oak campus, where she presented to an interdisciplinary team of FDA scientists and collaborators on the real-world challenges families and healthcare providers face when lactation data is limited.
The visit also included discussions around emerging research approaches that may one day help us better predict how medications transfer into human milk and how the lactating mammary gland changes over time, all with the goal of improving the information available to breastfeeding families and their healthcare teams.
One of the highlights of the trip was reconnecting with former TTUHSC School of Pharmacy student Kori Adair, who completed a fellowship at the FDA and now works there as an FDA drug information pharmacist.
We’re grateful for opportunities to collaborate, share ideas, and continue moving lactation science forward.
If your breast milk has ever looked off—pink, bright yellow, even glowing—you’re not alone.
The good news: most color changes are harmless.
We explored what moms are seeing and what might explain it, from small amounts of blood to vitamins like riboflavin.
