On June Wednesday, June 24th, we celebrated the retirement of Cpl. Jimmy Blandford after 20 years of dedicated service to the Amarillo Police Department.

Cpl. Blandford graduated from the 75th Amarillo Police Academy in December 2006 and began his career serving in Patrol. In 2013, he transferred to the Motors Unit, where he spent the remainder of his career proudly serving the citizens of Amarillo.

Throughout his two decades of service, Jimmy earned his TCOLE Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Master Peace Officer Licenses. His commitment to excellence was recognized with the APD Good Conduct Award, Life Saving Award, Fitness Award, and numerous commendations.

Beyond the badge, Jimmy is a devoted husband to his wife, Tiffany, and a proud father to their daughter, Alexis, and son, Jayden.

Thank you, Cpl. Blandford, for your professionalism, dedication, and commitment to this department and our community. Your service has left a lasting impact, and you will be missed.
