Welcome to Thursday, Oct. 23. Today is Tuesday of the 29th Week in Ordinary Time. Today’s readings are: Romans 6:19-23; Psalm 1:1-2, 3, 4 and 6; and, Luke 12:49-53.

Three things:
• The latest episode of The West Texas: The Audio Version, is now on the diocesan website, amarillodiocese.org and on westtexascatholic.org. Listen to the program on our own schedule and before it airs on Catholic Radio.

• The next opportunity to take The Moral Life course of the Faith Formation Basic Course is Saturday from 9:00am to noon for the North Deanery at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 915 South Maddox, Dumas. Sister María Elena Ferrer will offer the course in English, while Fatima Zanetti, director of Religious Education at St. Hyacinth Church, Amarillo, will present the course in Spanish. Welcome to Tuesday, Oct. 21. Today is Tuesday of the 29th Week in Ordinary Time. Today’s readings are: Romans 5:12, 15b, 17-19, 20b-21; Psalm 40:7-8a, 8b-9, 10, 17; and, Luke 12:35-38.

Three things:
• The 14th Red Mass takes place tonight at 6:30 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. At the conclusion of Mass, Carlos Cárdenas of El Paso will offer comments, followed by a reception in the reception room of the Monsignor Francis A. Smyer Activity Center. Everyone is invited to the Mass and reception.

• Today is the deadline to register for the Women’s ACTS Retreat, taking place Thursday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct 26 at the Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center, 2100 North Spring, Amarillo. Get signed up at actsamarillo.org.

• The latest edition of The West Texas Catholic, dated Sunday, Oct. 19, has been sent as a Flocknote to subscribers this morning. For those wishing a hard copy of the diocesan newspaper, those will be available on a first-come, first-served basis this weekend at parishes throughout the Diocese of Amarillo and will also be available later this week during regular business hours at the Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center and in the lobby of the Diocesan Pastoral Center.

• The latest episode of Spiritual Arms: Five Minutes for the Battle drops this morning at 7:00 at stcapn.com. Please be sure to offer your comments about this addition to the CAPN lineup, hosted by Joshua Correa of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Amarillo

• Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Amarillo are closed today for Columbus Day. Schools will reopen Tuesday morning at their regular time.
