This is your reminder to get your child’s yearly wellness visit or sports physical scheduled before summer calendars fill up and back-to-school activities start rolling in.

Last summer this kept us BUSY… and availability became limited quickly.

At VirtualMed Iowa, these visits are simple and convenient. Appointments are covered by insurance but we also offer affordable cash pay options if needed.

Sports physicals are a great time to:
• complete required school/sports forms
• check growth and development
• ask questions
• review overall health before a busy school year

The answer is both 😊

VirtualMed Iowa is now mostly an in-person primary care clinic here in Ames, but we still offer telehealth appointments daily for certain visit types.

Things like first menopause consults, medication follow-ups, some sick visits, and simple concerns can often be done virtually from home.

Other appointments are best done in-person so we can examine you, run testing, or provide more hands-on care.

If you’ve been looking for a more modern and personal primary care experience... we are currently accepting new patients.

ONSITE LABS are now available at VirtualMed Iowa!

This has been one of the BIGGEST requests from both current and future patients, and we are excited to finally say… it’s here.

We are able to perform many of the common labs you would expect from a primary care clinic including wellness labs, sick visit labs, hormone-related labs, pediatric labs, and more.

Yes… this includes kids!

Labs can be completed during your regular appointment or scheduled separately depending on appointment type and our availability.

This is a HUGE step forward for our clinic and patient experience, and we are really excited to finally offer it!

We know many families have been waiting for this update!

We are NOT able to see Iowa Total Care patients before June 1st under in-network coverage.

➡️ The good news:
You can schedule NOW for appointments taking place on or after June 1st.

These new Medicaid annoucements will likely make our schedules much busier heading into summer…
