Trash Bandit

Mountain peaks that are named after the kids: Cara, Elise, and Paul. Initially this was going to be the Wasatch Front, but he wanted something more sentimental. This is our first session 🙂

Forgot to take a picture of the latest progress on the bonsai tree. But this was after we finished adding details to the dragon. We have one more session left and then we’re done! 🤩

Before we do a celebratory post once this is allllll done, I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank my ultra-supportive client, Eric, as well as a backstory of how this came about.

This is my first huge back tattoo and was a project that started last June. Eric came to me with a challenge I thought I would never get to take on. The elements of the crane, tiger, leopard, dragon, and snake all come from martial arts, which he holds dearly and is passionate about. (Homie’s working his way up to earn his black belt!) We’d planned all of these out back in February/March. The first 3 creatures were stenciled, and then everything else was freehanded.

Even though I consider myself new to the tattoo world (almost 4 years in), I took every opportunity from these sessions we have as a learning opportunity because I know my work is not perfect. But the fact that Eric trusts my creativity and the collaboration we have together, it made this entire experience so worth it.

I’ve been drawing up some birds recently. They’re fun to draw, whether they’re flying or just hanging around. They come in all shapes and sizes. So for this lil guy, he’s called a cedar waxwing.
