English riding in Anaheim Hils teaching horsemanship , basic riding up to advanced show jumping

To the rider who cried in the tack room this week: This one is for you🤍👇

We’ve all had that ride. The one where you turn the engine off in the car afterward, look at the steering wheel, and just let the tears fall.

The ride where the frustration is so heavy it feels physical, and the self-doubt whispers that maybe you’re just not cut out for this.

When you care this much, every step backward feels like an earthquake.

But here is what nobody tells you when you’re packing your tack trunk in the dark: the frustration you feel is actually a sign of respect.

It means you care enough to want to be better for the soul carrying you. It means you refuse to just be a passenger.

Your horse isn’t giving you a hard time; he’s having a hard time. He’s trying to rewrite his own muscle memory to match your growth, and that is a slow, silent, messy process.

So next time you feel like you’re failing, look at those ears in front of you. He doesn’t know your goals, your budget, or your expectations.

He only knows your hands, your breath, and your heart. If you can keep those soft when everything else is falling apart, you haven’t lost a thing.

You’ve won the only battle that matters.

Take the pressure off your shoulders today. You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. 05/27/2026

It’s a journey of steps forward then back, then forward then back. Just keep showing up & that’s one of the most important steps to help take you forward.

Early mornings before the Horseshows start or some of my favorite times. Watching the Kruze work hard, the Horse Show staff putting everything in place, and the exhibitor is starting to walk on in with big smiles to have fun.
