Bichon Rescue Brigade
Anyone who has owned a Bichon Frise can attest to the amazing joy they give to their human and canine companions.
Formerly known as Herb at Downey, Bailey’s story is one we know all too well. Found wandering alone, covered in foxtails and matted fur, he arrived at the shelter scared, overwhelmed, and unsure of the world around him.
Bailey joined us on Saturday and is now getting the chance to decompress and receive the care he needs before we begin searching for his forever home.
Huge thank you to Lynn U. 🇹🇭🇺🇸 for his freedom ride, The Reyes Fur Pack for opening your home to foster, Thomas and Sharing the wonderful dogs of Downey ACC and friends for advocating for dogs like Bailey.

Welcome to BRB, Mac 💙
When we saw Marcel at the Lancaster shelter, we knew we couldn’t leave him behind. Now safely in BRB care, this fluffy little guy has a fresh start—and a brand-new name to go with it.
Mac is about 2 years old, 16 pounds, and small dog friendly. Like many shelter dogs, he’s still learning that the world is a safe place again. Mac will do best in an adult-only home that can provide patience while he builds confidence.
Mac is in a temporary foster home in Palmdale, but we’re searching for a committed Southern California foster willing to care for him until he’s adopted. Transport can be arranged, DM us if you can foster.

Sammie joined BRB in March 2025 with an old spinal injury and has spent the last year surrounded by love in a dedicated foster home.
Now, he needs a new Southern California foster by June 19.
As Sammie’s mobility challenges have progressed, it’s become clear that he needs a foster home better equipped to support his daily care needs. His current foster family loves him dearly, but an upcoming work commitment means he won’t have the level of supervision and support he needs. We’re looking for a foster home that can provide extra hands-on care, patience, and help him stay clean, comfortable, and safe while we continue to give him the best quality of life possible. Ideally, someone is home much of the day, and a calm canine companion would be a bonus.
What hasn’t changed is Sammie himself. He’s still the sweetest little shadow, happiest when he’s close to his people and soaking up love. Despite everything he’s facing, he remains gentle, trusting, and devoted to his people.
We know Sammie isn’t the right fit for every home. But we also know there’s someone out there willing to look beyond the extra care and see the wonderful little dog underneath it all.
If you can foster Sammie, please send us a DM. And if you can’t foster, sharing this post could help us find the person who can.
