We're hiring an ANSEP Acceleration Academy Program Assistant (Temporary) in Nome!

Join the ANSEP Acceleration Academy in Nome and help empower Alaska's youth through STEM learning, mentorship, and academic support. This temporary, full-time, 9-month position begins in mid-July 2026 to support the launch of the Nome campus before transitioning to the standard academic schedule from August through May. Program Assistants directly support student success through supervision, logistics, and creating safe, engaging learning environments. Ideal candidates are passionate about rural and Indigenous education, youth development, and helping students achieve their academic goals!

Earlier this month, ANSEP hosted K-5 STEM Week at Finger Lake Elementary School in Wasilla! More than 70 students explored hands-on STEM learning through engineering challenges, Sphero robot coding, rocket launches, ecology activities, metric olympics, and design competitions focused on creativity and problem-solving. Activities included gummy bear structure building, aquatic ecosystem investigations, pollinator studies, weather observations, bottle rocket engineering, and aluminum foil boat competitions!

Throughout the week, students strengthened their collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills while exploring STEM topics and learning about future career pathways. Thank you to the students, educators, and staff who made STEM Week such a success!
