This man has played an absolute VITAL ROLE to the success of both Glacier BrewHouse and Orso, and we're so grateful and honored to have him on our team 🌟

Born in Washington and raised in Soldotna, Eric's passion for food undoubtedly started with his grandparents. He remembers his grandfather grafting apple trees while his grandmother tended to their garden - growing fresh produce for family dinners every Sunday. Eric loved helping her in the kitchen, from peeling potatoes and washing vegetables to learning her tricks of the trade.

His first job in the restaurant industry was at Elks Lodge restaurant when his dad encouraged him to take the dishwasher position. Eric quickly moved up into the kitchen, learning both prepping and cooking. Years later he went to AVTEC where he joined the Culinary Arts Program, graduating from both the Culinary and Baking program. He would go on to graduate from Seattle's Culinary Art Institute as well.

Eric was the go-to guy in every restaurant he worked in. Quick to say yes, Eric found himself with new opportunities to learn, grow, and evolve as a chef. He worked in Anchorage hotels and on the North Slope before joining the Brews Brothers, where he was our Executive Chef from 2002-2009. And he returned in 2022 as our Culinary Director after a successful run with his catering company 36 Bistro and his restaurant The Kannery Grill down in Homer!

A father, husband, and an outstanding member of our great Alaskan community, we want to say THANK YOU Eric for all of your hard work, dedication, creativity, passion, and strength 💪!! We're all lucky to have you as part of this family 🙏
