Alaska Trail Stewards volunteers reset two puncheon structures about two miles from the trailhead on Resurrection Pass Trail. The puncheons were slightly tilted and not ideal for bikers. They are now leveled, thanks to our hardworking volunteers! Big thanks to Tall Trees Alaska for sponsoring this event!
If you haven't joined us at a volunteer event yet this season, now's the time! We have two events this Saturday. Learn more and sign up here: https://www.alaska-trails.org/current-volunteer-opportunities

Our Alaska Trail Stewards volunteers recently completed some trail work on the Meridian Lake Trail in Chugach National Forest! They did some light brushing near the cabin/tent site area near Meridian Lake, cleared out drains near the turnpikes on the trail, as well as removed three wooden water bars and replaced them with dirt-berm drains to make the trail more bike friendly. They also cleaned off a portion of the wooden structures where organic material was building up within the grooves.
Want to join us? We'll be returning to Meridian Lake Trail later this season. See all our volunteer opportunities and sign up here: https://www.alaska-trails.org/current-volunteer-opportunities
