UAA College of Arts & Sciences Summer Camps: HOW TO CHANGE THE WORLD Jun 15-19. 8:30AM - 3:30PM. From homelessness and health care to immigration and climate change, urgent issues confront our city, our state, our nation, and our world. As the first of its kind, this summer camp will introduce high schoolers to political science, the scientific study of politics. Over the course of five days, campers will be led through interactive lessons on political theories of social change, the inner workings of American political institutions, comparative case studies of social revolutions, and the international spread of domestic reforms, culminating in group presentations of research projects on public policies of their choosing!
Thanks to a gift from ConocoPhillips Alaska, scholarships are now available for families qualifying for Title I funding that covers camp costs, transportation, breakfast and lunch while youth attends their camp.
