The Literacy Center has great new signage, thanks to a grant from Madison County Community Foundation.

That involves understanding the issues, evaluating the candidates, analyzing their positions, and marking ballots correctly."

As you exercise your right to vote on Election Day, try to imagine how overwhelming this basic foundation of American democracy can be for Individuals who struggle with reading. One in five adults are faced with difficult or impossible challenges as they identify their polling place, register to vote, research the issues and candidates, read the signs and directions at their polling place, and navigate the ballot form.
