America Recycles Day will be celebrated across the United States on November 15th. WestPoint Home encourages our employees, friends, and neighbors to adopt one new recycling habit each year whether at home or at work and regardless of their work location across the globe. At our WestPoint Home US Operations, we recycle textile wastes, metals, pallets, batteries, cardboard, and other office materials. We also often donate items we no longer need including furniture, office supplies, and textiles.
Here’s a few easy tips to embrace recycling:
1. Alkaline and rechargeable batteries can be recycled in the US for FREE at Staples or by purchasing a prelabeled, postage prepaid from Call2Recycle. Rechargeable batteries can be recycled at Lowes, Home Depot and Batteries Plus as well.
2. All light bulbs except incandescent can be recycled for FREE at Staples, Lowes, Home Depot and Batteries Plus.
3. Plastic grocery bags and plastic films (such as recyclable bulk paper towel wrap) can be recycled for FREE at several grocery stores across the US.
4. Staples offers an extensive recycling program for consumers for FREE including most electronic waste, printer cartridges, school supplies, bags and luggage. For a complete list of acceptable items, please visit www.staples.com/stores/recycling.
5. Food waste represents about 30% by weight of all US trash. Food waste is a valuable commodity in gardens which is rich in nutrients and other organic matter. To learn how to start composting including pumpkins, please start visit https://www.epa.gov/recycle/composting-home.
6. Styrofoam egg cartons and cups can be recycled at Publix grocery stores for FREE.
Remember, if you have odd items like used glass yogurt jars, thread spools, wine bottles, used saw blades, used paint brushes, or used corks that are not readily recycled in your area, please offer these items up for grabs on social media sites or other sites for artists like Etsy. Some of these items fetch a handful of dollars for items you’d normally throw away. Great fundraising idea as well. For a more comprehensive list of recycling outlets in your area, please visit search.earth911.com.

The International Day of Climate Action will be celebrated on October 24, 2025. The day is designed to bring awareness to the effects of climate change on our natural environment and encourage individuals and businesses alike to take action to reduce their impacts on the planet.
Individuals are encouraged to buy locally made produce, walk or bike instead of drive, eat less red meat, plant native trees and shrubs, provide natural habitats by installing bird houses or other wildlife shelters, use less pesticides, reduce consumerism, reduce and recycle their wastes when possible, reduce energy costs at home by weatherizing doors and windows, and compost.
Businesses are encouraged to embrace green energies like solar or wind power, recycle wastes, provide circular economies for their products, source raw materials locally and sustainably when possible, and provide education to their employees to understand climate change.
To that end, WestPoint Home has taken several steps to reduce its impact on the planet in recent months and years including becoming a member of the UN Global Compact, introducing Carbon Literacy Training for leadership and staff, and setting actionable items to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. We are also planning to onboard our first renewable energy source, a solar farm, at our Bahrain plant pending final approval, logistics, and permitting.

In 2024 we were committed to completing our carbon assessment with Greenly.
Our goal was to:
✅ Measure our full carbon footprint (scope 1,2, & 3) - baseline of FY23 & FY24
✅ Share our results with our customers & colleagues
✅ Take concrete action in reducing our emissions
We are proud that we have received a Silver category score. Only 15% of companies worldwide receive this carbon assessment.
👉 This score will allow us to see our long term and short-term initiatives take life, as we continue to get a yearly assessment.
We would like to thank Greenly for their support through this process and of course, all of our employees for their involvement on our climate journey.
We’ll keep you updated with our progress!

At WestPoint Vision, we’re proud to champion carbon literacy across our global team with The Carbon Literacy Project
Since March 2025, we’ve delivered five remote training sessions tailored to our business, reaching 40 colleagues across the US, UK, Bahrain, India, Pakistan, and China. This included our leadership, HR, sales, and manufacturing teams.
We’re not stopping there — this November, we’re hosting a global gathering as part of Carbon Literacy Action Day (CLAD) to celebrate progress and inspire continued action. We're also embedding carbon reduction pledges into FY26 personal development and team goals.
Carbon literacy is about understanding our impact and making tangible change —we’re committed to taking global action.

WestPoint Home Celebrates Earth Day 2025
Earth Day will be celebrated internationally on April 22. Earth Day is intended to encourage environmental awareness and ACTION to protect the environment. Awareness includes knowing your daily waste footprint (the average American produces almost 6 pounds of household trash per day!!!!), knowing how many harsh chemicals are involved in your daily living activities (from cleaning products to makeup contents), and the amount of daily car travel (the average US driver travels over 30 miles per day).
WestPoint Home encourages everyone, including our employees, to be an ambassador of Mother Earth whether at work or at home. This includes purchasing earth friendly products, planting trees and plants that support healthy natural environments, limiting use of herbicides and pesticides, minimizing consumerism, and recycling, reuse, and composting.
To celebrate Earth Day, WestPoint Home is currently completing a shoe drive to divert shoes from landfills and support economies in disenfranchised areas of the globe. We also continue to improve upon our 84% recycling rate across our company’s worldwide footprint by advancing our fiber recycling efforts at our Bahrain factory. More to come on that effort soon!
Wherever you live, please consider doing your part to protect our natural environment. If you need other ideas to celebrate earth day, please visit woyago.com/earth-day-activities.
1. As determined by internal WPH recycling rate calculations for both WPH manufacturing plants and published in the annual Corporate Responsibility Report.

Today is Global Recycling Day and the theme for this year's event is "Breaking Barriers: A Revolutionary Blueprint for the Waste Management Crisis". Here at WestPoint Home, we have two manufacturing plants that have long served as a true solution for plastic waste. We currently use tons of post-consumer plastic waste each year as the source of our recycled polyester (rPET) fiber. We use rPET as a down-alternative fiber fill in products like pillows and comforters and as the thread in weaving certain sustainable fabrics.
In addition to the extensive use of rPET, WestPoint Home enjoys an 84% recycling rate across its entire global footprint. We are truly a global leader in textile innovation and a vital part of worldwide recycling solutions. To learn more about our sustainability initiatives, please visit our website.
