It has been a year of reflection for me as I graciously exit my 30’s. I want to first thank everyone who supported me over the years, I know it’s not easy loving me 😅

Forgive me for my sudden departure last August/September. After many years of pain, it was discovered that I had a medical issue that needed to be taken care of immediately. When I say death bed, wow, you don’t even know how God saw me through that one. I’ve been battling with post surgery blues ever since. Some days are easy and some days I can barely get out the bed. Most days I wonder how I’m making it at all. But I just keep pressing forward.

I hope that God has been good to each and every one of you. I hope that whatever is troubling you, you choose God to see you through. I hope that there is a hand reaching back out for you every time you reach out for help. And most of all I pray that you never feel lonely or invisible in this world. We are all here for a reason.

According to the Institute of Justice, Braiding Exemptions to the Cosmetology Law in these 32 states, allow anyone with a desire to begin a successful hair stylist career the ability to do so.

But wait, doesn't this only apply to braiders? Actually when analyzing the exemption verbiage, it states that the only services that can't be performed are chemical services (hair color, perms, relaxers) or services that use chemical joining agents (tape, keratin glue). Surprisingly this also includes the shampooing and blow drying of hair (though some states have moved to exempt those services as well).

Why is this important? If you offer any of the following services, you can travel to any of these states and gain additional clientele! Many of these states do not have stylists performing these services - think supply & demand!

If you're looking to get started in the industry today, think about specializing in one, two or all of these services. You can travel or even open up a salon in one of the exempt states.

Custom Units (Glueless)
Microlinks
Braidless Sew In's
ITIPS
Nanos

Or just about any service that does not use chemicals to alter the hair permanently.
