In this passage, Solomon warns his son about the danger of the “forbidden woman,” which represents sexual sin and every form of impurity. The principle goes beyond the act itself. It is also about avoiding the path that leads to it.

This verse calls us to stay far from sin by refusing to entertain it in any form. We are not to place ourselves in tempting situations or linger near anything that could draw our hearts away from God. Sin is deceptive. It rarely appears in its full form at the beginning. It starts small, subtle, and seemingly harmless, yet it leads to destruction.

Instead of trusting our own strength, we are called to walk in wisdom. We must recognize our weakness and keep our distance from temptation. The goal is not to see how close we can get without falling, but to flee from it altogether.
