This is a good question. How much does an athlete process in a moment on the field or the court? This could mean the difference in success or failure, in prolonged performance or in disastrous injury. What if you could train your vision and brain to help you react faster and more precisely? What if you could reduce your chance of injury and simultaneously gain an edge on the competition?? HINT: We can help with that!

DM our page, email [email protected], or call or text 60-290-0165 to learn how we could change your approach to sports forever!

How much are you processing of what you see? .

When a player makes a good play during a game; makes a big tackle, hits a tough shot, gets a point-saving dig, or scores a hat trick and they are asked about it later, they will almost always say a variation of the same thing: I just reacted to what was around me. This is kind of true. While they absolutely reacted to the play, they also made possibly hundreds of high-speed, accurate decisions when deciding what to do with the situation presented to them. This is done using the Frontal Lobe of the brain and specifically the prefrontal cortex. The prefrontal cortex controls our executive decision making whether that be objective short-term decision making on the field, how we respond socially, and how we plan long-term. There are other purposes of the prefrontal cortex but we will just focus on this decision-making aspect. Every game, an athlete uses their prefrontal cortex to makes thousands of complex decisions. This means that training this part of the brain is invaluable. This can help make sharper decisions and reduce "brain fog" that can be costly when an athlete gets tired and makes a bad decision late in a game. Go- NO Go drills can help athletes make faster, more efficient, and more effective decisions when they decide to stay or react to what happens around them while training that prefrontal cortex to be more reliable in both the instant reaction and the long term when battling fatigue.

The world of sport is constantly changing. Athletes are getting bigger, stronger, and faster every year. With this new speed and strength comes a need for an athlete to train and sharpen their mind to keep up with an ever-faster speed of play. One of the greatest indicators of success OR failure is an athlete's accommodation reflex. What is accommodation reflex? It is the ability to be able to shift the point of focus from an object that is far to one that is near and vice versa. This is insanely important to athletes. Hundreds of times in a game, their eyes shift from near to far and back again. Also included in this reaction is the athlete's ability to track the trajectory of an incoming object (i.e a ball being passed or thrown) or player. This is an unconscious reaction on the field of play; but even though the reaction happens naturally, it can still be trained and sharpened. If an athlete's accommodation reflex is slow, it increases their chance of injury or poor performance. At Brain Performance Pro, our program targets the neurological deficiencies that cause a slow accommodation reflex so that our athletes' minds are as strong and fast as their body!

Peripheral vision is so important to athletes no matter what sport they compete in. What many coaches and athletes do not understand is that peripheral vision is not just seeing what is going on around you but also being able to process this information with speed and precision. Without being able to understand and react to that information, just being able to see what is going on around you will not help. With Neuro-Visual Training, we can actually increase an athlete's peripheral vision AND help them process and react to that information faster and more accurately!
