Foster Waters Films
Your story, our lens. Founded in 2016, Foster Waters Films brings high-end, cinematic video production to Metro Detroit and surrounding areas.
Watching the way people can fully tap into character for a video project is truly amazing.
We didn’t use paid actors. We used real band members and their families, who tapped straight into the raw stories and emotions the song was written about.
“Sorrow” by Faith Over Fear is streaming on all platforms. You can watch the full music video using the 3rd link in my bio.

Most people see the wedding film. Nobody sees the 48 hours before it.
Here's what my prep actually looks like before I show up on your wedding day — because every step is intentional.
📋 PLANNING & COMMUNICATION
Weeks before the wedding, I send every couple a detailed planning questionnaire. Timeline, venue layout, key people I need to know by face, moments that matter most to them. I want to know if grandma flew in from out of state, if there's a surprise dance planned, if the bride tears up every time she hears a certain song. The more I know going in, the less I'm figuring out on the day.
I keep communication tight leading up to the day. A check-in the week before, a confirmed timeline 48 hours out. No surprises for them. No surprises for me.
🎯 SHOT LIST
I build a shot list for every wedding — but I treat it as a guideline, not a script. It's a safety net so my brain doesn't have to work overtime on the fundamentals. That frees me up to chase the moments nobody planned for. The dad's whisper when he walks his daughter down the aisle. The flower girl who falls asleep during the reception. Those shots don't live on any list.
👔 OUTFIT PLANNING
I think about what I'm wearing more than people expect. Weddings are formal events and I'm working in people's frames all day. I dress like I belong there. Dark, clean, professional. Nothing that pulls focus.
🎒 GEAR PREP
Everything gets checked two nights in a row before the wedding. Every battery charged. Every card formatted. Every lens and sensor cleaned. The gimbal balanced. The lav mics tested. Anything I need to rent gets reserved at least a month out. My rig setup is decided a week before — nothing is figured out the morning of.
My kit goes into the bag in a specific order, every time. A, B, and C camera bodies. Backup lenses. Audio gear. Media. Lighting for dark receptions. Gimbal. V-mounts and backup batteries. At least two of everything that matters — because one failure point is one too many on a day you can never reshoot.
The car gets loaded the night before. I know where I'm going, how long it takes, and I leave earlier than I need to.
All of this exists so that when I walk through the venue doors, I'm not thinking about gear or timelines or logistics.
I'm making the experience as good as possible. And every camera is rolling.
If you're getting married in 2027 and you want someone who takes this stuff seriously — shoot me a message. Let's talk.

Katie + Matt | Trailer 🕊️
Wedding season has been absolutely booming, but I had to step out of the editing bay to drop a sneak peek of Katie + Matt’s incredible day last weekend. Witnessing the raw energy, the laughter, and the quiet, emotional moments between these two and their families made it an absolute privilege to document.
Hearing about Katie’s reaction to seeing this for the first time is exactly why we capture these stories—preserving the love, the tears, and the people who matter most so you can relive them forever.
The standard is simple: We deliver your official cinematic trailer in less than 7 days, no matter what. No months of waiting around—just your story, your family, and your love delivered right when the post-wedding excitement is at its highest.
