This week’s Monday post is going to come in 2 parts because there were so many cute moments in R and M’s wedding that involved grandmothers, baraat fun, special guest fun, and the beloved family pup!

One of the fun parts of Indian weddings is shooting pre wedding events. Some of these are sweet moments from R’s bride making ceremony.

These moments took place after the and this ritual is called the . The bride says goodbye to her family and prepares to become part of the groom’s family. It’s usually a tearful time and it feels so loving and intimate that I often hesitate to share these images because I don’t feel like it’s my place publicize something so raw and loving and private. It is truly an honor for me to capture these and I often get emotional too!

The good part is that the tears always turn joyful as the bride and groom make their exit as the sisters try to hold them back and the groom has to offer them gifts in exchange for his new bride. After the official exit, the couple visits the grooms side and the bride is greeted with rituals, sweets, games, and blessings.
