You may know Roxie as an artist who has illustrated 14 covers for the New Yorker Magazine. That’s an outstanding achievement itself, but did you know that she has also written and illustrated more that forty nonfiction children’s books. Her books have been named Smithsonian’s Best Science Books for children, NSTA Science Trade Books, and winners of the Society of International Librarians Honor Award. Join us June 13th from 2-4pm to meet this renowned artist.
Meet renowned New Yorker Magazine cover artist Roxie Munros in the gallery Saturday, June 13th from 2-4pm. In addition to her acrylic and oils of New York and Washington DC street scenes, her exhibit includes watercolors from her newly released children’s book “Treasure Thieves on the High Seas”. Limited edition prints and signed books are available while they last. Meet Roxie Saturday afternoon, June 13 from 2 to 4pm.
Sage O’Silver brings the high seas to the stage with fiery fiddle, dance, and song. A veteran of Tall Ships, Renaissance, and music festivals across the U.S., she spins original tales and classic shanties, drawing audiences of all ages into her pirate music, myths, and adventures. Her work has been featured by the Smithsonian, Yale University Art Gallery, and Brown Folk Festival, and she will be premiering a pirate democracy show at the District Fringe Festival later this summer.
