I looked back to the living room to see if Dean needed a hand to find the biggest smile on a proud 3 year old boy. 🥹 I didn’t think this process would take as long as it has, but one of the many blessings along the way is that Evan is watching us build his home and he is really starting to get it. He knows where his room will be, his future play room hideout and can identity toilet rough ins. 😅 He is an expert at building little creations out of odds and ends and testing how fast things will fall off the back deck while we work. He may have been a little toddling baby when we started, but now he is so strong, confident on his feet, and he is ready to help. Loving this time with him; now we build it back together! Electrical inspection is scheduled for Wednesday and I’m so so grateful to be near completion with this part of the journey.

Hey guys. 👋 if you missed it, I announced this week that we are listing our house to move once again. We have called this lovely place home sweet home for 8 months. In the thick of our transition from Maryland to Texas and now beyond, it has been the happiest and safest place to just be us. So I feel thankful. We are currently under contract, and hoping for a smooth transition of ownership as we look to the future, albeit unsure of exactly what’s next. So I’m just taking time to, once again, soak in a house that I just finished before I hand it off. I hope if anything my sporadic sharing has encouraged you to remember that paint is a powerful and affordable tool when designing or refreshing you home!

It took me a week’s worth of nap times and evenings to pull together our primary bedroom in our new home, but I did it! It feels so amazing to have a curated space just for us, a space that feels like home. I’m on a mission to not spend $$$ on trim work in this house, and to create high-impact design with paint. So I painted the ceiling in SW Iron Ore and brought that color down the wall about 5 finishes. Then I painted contrast trim, paired with BM Simply White walls. The room feels calm, bright, and soothing now. I’m also trying my hand at keeping a few new plant friends alive, so we shall see how that goes! Thanks for following along with the simple transformation on stories!
