Last night, surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues, I was officially sworn in (under oath by NC Senator Sydney Batch) to the Apex Town Council.

I am so thankful to my community for putting their trust in me. Whether you’re one of the 8,333 people that voted for me or not, I promise to work hard for each and every one of you, and represent you to the best of my ability. I am ready for the hard work.

Huge thanks to Mayor Pro Tem Brett Gantt and former Mayor Pro Tem Audra Killingsworth, as we stand on their shoulders and the hard work they’ve done for Apex.

Thank you to those who worked so hard on my campaign — my team, my wife Savannah, and my kids Jackson, Elly, and Nora. I couldn’t have done it without their patience and all of the support at home!

Thank you to my parents, who instilled in me the value of pursuing a purpose. To my late grandpa, who set the example of selfless service. In their honor, I promise to work for the betterment of my community.

I’m Shane Reese, and I promise to continue to be your neighbor working for you. Let’s get to work!

I am deeply honored and humbled to be your next Apex Town Council member. This victory belongs to every single person who believed we could protect what makes Apex special while building a better future together.

To my wife Savannah – thank you for believing in me and standing by my side through every early morning and late night of this campaign. To our kids Jackson, Elly, and Nora – thank you for sharing me with this community and for reminding me every day why this work matters. You are my everything.

To the volunteers who knocked on doors in the heat, wrote postcards, made phone calls, and believed in this vision from day one – you proved that grassroots campaigns built on trust and respect can win. To the friends and neighbors who hosted or delivered yard signs, sent encouraging texts, and had honest conversations about Apex's future – you made this possible.

And to every voter who cast a ballot – whether you supported me or not – I promise to represent all of Apex with integrity, accessibility, and a commitment to listening. This is just the beginning of our work together.

We ran this campaign on a simple belief: When we work together as neighbors, we can achieve so much more. Now, let's prove it. Let's keep Apex the Peak of Good Living – together.

It's Election Eve 11/04/2025

It's Election Eve Ed Gray, Shane Reese, and Sue Mu's campaigns race to the finish. What to expect tomorrow.

Today is Election Day 2025!!! If you haven't already done so, please come out and cast your ballot. Although municipal elections receive a lot less attention than national elections, your Town Council is your closest form of government and impacts your daily life in material ways (local roads, parks, sports programming, managing growth, etc.). Unsure, where to vote? You can use the voter registration lookup tool to find your polling place. https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/

EdGray4Apex, Sue4Apex, and Shane Reese for Apex have been working hard over the past few months to educate voters on their platforms. I enthusiastically support these candidates. They all have impressive track records of service. Their honesty, accessibility and transparency makes them the colleagues I want to work with on Council. I hope you join me in voting for Ed, Sue and Shane.

I'll be out doing some poll greeting at the 20-06a and 20-06b polling locations this afternoon. Hope to see you there!

Election Day (November 4) is upon us! The campaign trail has been one of my most rewarding challenges yet, and hearing from so many of you along the way has just reinforced my love and dedication to the Town of Apex. My goal is to make local government work for everyone, so you can focus on what matters most – your family, your work, and your activities.

Polls open at 6:30am and close at 7:30pm. You can still vote as long as you are marked in line BY 7:30pm.

*please note, there has been one new polling location added: Scott's Ridge Elementary School - 6601 Apex Barbecue Rd

Thank you to everyone who came out for the first weekend of early voting in Apex!

I was especially proud to see so many first-time voters making their voices heard.

A huge thanks to our amazing volunteers who spent the weekend greeting voters, passing out literature, and keeping the energy high!

And a special thank-you to friends and community leaders — Abderrahmane Couissi, President of the Apex Mosque, and the current and former elected officials Ya Liu, Christine Kushner, Wiley Nickel, Terry Mahaffey, Arno Zegerman, and Steve Rao, for coming out to show support for Ed, Sue, and me.

If you haven’t already, make your plan to get out to the polls — your voice truly matters in this election.
Early voting is open through Saturday, November 1 — there’s still time to cast your ballot!
