I am intrigued by the irony in the movement to eliminate "female", "black", or other minority labels from the phrase "I am a..." Obviously, as a white male, my ability to experience at a deep-level is unattainable. the dichotomy of this issue between recognition (wanting respect or acknowledgment for your successes because you likely had to overcome challenges as a minority) and separation (the desire to eliminate those labels because you know the inclusion of those words suggests you are "less than" the labelless title.
