I am officially back on the grid from a little family camping trip! We had a lot of fun over the long weekend, but I will say, camping with kids is NOT relaxing (until they go to sleep). My spouse and I are exhausted, but if kids have taught me anything, it’s that I will sleep when I’m dead. 🤣 I think I’m caught up on emails, and I’ll be back to social media throughout today and tomorrow as I get little pops of quiet in the day. I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend and got to connect with their little fams, too!

I still have some beautiful work to share from April minis, and I have been keeping these in my pocket for a beautiful day like today. I have to admit… mini sessions with first time clients always rattle my nerves. A short amount of time to razzle dazzle new people can be a lot of pressure, BUT these amazing kids made our shoot so much fun and truly made my job easy! I think these have to be the perfect ages for a mini session. No stranger danger, all fun and games!

There are so many factors that guide the decision of which photographer to hire. For most families, budget is in the drivers seat, followed by website/portfolio, followed by reviews and social media content. There are so many incredible options (especially where I live in the Fox Valley), and the research process can feel overwhelming.

My advice for anyone looking to hire a photographer is to ask themselves these questions:
• Is my budget flexible based on my needs?
• Is my budget determined by what I think photography should cost versus what it does cost?
• Does the photographer provide my wardrobe?
• What do other people say about him/her?
• And most importantly (if you have young kids), how ridiculous and shameless is this person willing to be when it comes to getting my toddler to smile?

Three generations of girlies 🫶

I am slowly adopting myself into this family. Baby Ella is one of my Baby Book package babies, and because of this adorable little peach, I have met the most incredible group of people. I’m not sure how I got this lucky, but I learned long ago never to question a good thing!

A few updates!
• my summer calendar is almost full! Inquire through my website if you’d love a sunset session before fall.
• Poetry sessions have gotten so popular! I still have morning by availability this summer for a few more!
