Hello! We are asking for your help to please donate toward Alianza's Graduation Sarapes!!!! Here are the details:

Alianza is a university organization dedicated to bringing awareness to the political/social issues Latine students face both off and on-campus. In past years, the sarape ceremony is a bridge for our first-generation students to reclaim a space in a predominantly white institution.

Because of COVID our organization hasn't been able to fundraise for our 2021 graduating class. We are asking for $310 to cover the expenses for the sarapes.

Below is a senior's description of what a sarape means to them:

"Given my experience of being part of the board my sophomore and junior year, I think a sarape represents the acknowledgment of my dedication to Alianza and everything the organization represents. Personally, Alianza was a way for me to represent my Central American culture on campus and learn about other cultures as well. However, the sarape most importantly represents my Hispanic heritage during one of my greatest accomplishments, which is during graduation where I will, officially, be the first in my family to graduate college. Overall, the sarape means a lot to me and I’m sure it means a lot to the other seniors as well for a variety of reasons!"
