Xavier Varsity Hawks Defeats Notre Dame Academy In Pitcher's Duel

Both teams were strong on the bump on Tuesday, but Xavier Varsity Hawks defeated Notre Dame Academy 2-0. Quinn Comerford started the game for Xavier Varsity Hawks and recorded 21 outs.

Comerford threw a complete game 2 hit shutout for the win while striking out six.

Xavier Varsity Hawks opened the scoring in the top of the fourth thanks to two singles. Xavier Varsity Hawks first got on the board when Gavin Wiese singled, scoring one run.

Drew Magnuson took the loss for Notre Dame Academy. The hurler went seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits, striking out six and walking one.

Kyler Bleck, Easton Stempa, Frankie Cavaiani, Carter Hermus, Wiese, and Titan Milhaupt each collected one hit for Xavier Varsity Hawks. Stempa and Wiese each drove in one run for Xavier Varsity Hawks. Xavier Varsity Hawks turned one double play in the game.

Xavier will play at Seymour in the Regional Final tomorrow at 4:30.
