Dear Parishioners of St. Thérèse,

As Catholics, we have the obligation to attend Mass every Sunday. This weekend, however, the weather forecast is calling for a severe winter storm, with over a foot of snow and strong winds. Travel may become dangerous, especially for the many parishioners who drive a considerable distance to come to Mass. In addition, with steady snowfall and wind, we may not be able to keep our parking lots and sidewalks fully cleared throughout the morning.

As your pastor, my strong recommendation is this:

• Please do everything possible to attend Mass on Saturday evening, either at 4:00 PM (English) or 5:30 PM (Spanish).
• If you sincerely plan ahead but are still unable to attend Mass due to dangerous weather, the obligation does not bind in those circumstances. I encourage you instead to keep holy the Lord’s Day at home through prayer — for example, praying the Rosary as a family, reading the Sunday readings together English Readings HERE, Spanish Readings HERE, spending quiet time in prayer, or watching Bishop Ricken’s televised Mass at 10:30am on WFRV Channel 5.

For Sunday morning:
• 9:00 AM – Mass (English)
• 10:30 AM – Mass (Spanish)

These Masses will likely be very simple (no choir and fewer people).

• 12:00 PM Sunday Mass is canceled.
• All Catechism Classes are canceled.

Please use prudence and do not take unnecessary risks in dangerous travel conditions.

God bless you,
Fr. Ryan
