Two pieces of mid-century office seating history, upholstered in a tufted, blue-gray tweed over a frame of chrome and composite. These chairs were for many years in use in the pastor's office of a local baptist church, right beside the holy safe. The plastic backs show ample scuffing/scratching, but could be bonded and sanded smooth again without great issue, whether by a professional restorer/upholsterer or a motivated and resourceful owner. Tilt-swivel mechanisms and casters in smooth, working condition. With or without restoration, this pair is ready to accent any office setting with a unique mid-century flair.

Tanker chairs are a thing of beauty, in both form and function, and this example is no exception. Aircraft grade aluminum undergird this extremely sturdy yet stylish piece, which is upholstered in a rich, copper-umber, tweed-like fabric. This piece and an accompanying sea green 2/3rds tanker desk came from the home office of an East Tennessee restauranteur and chef, nestled beside his UT Orange Karmann Ghia. A chair of this age always experiences pulverzation of the latex foam contents of the seat and back, and this ranks among the only restoration tasks awaiting this handsome chair's new owner. Though even in its current condition, the piece is eminently usable and presentable as-is.
