A little light humor as I prepare for baby #4.
I always feel a whole lot of guilt when I get to this stage of pregnancy when I can’t pick anything up off the ground.
And you know it’s bad when your 3 and 4 year old are trying to pick everything up from the ground with their feet or groaning as they bend or just flat out saying “I can’t do it- my belly is in the way, by back hurts.”

By nature, I am a Do-er. I thrive on getting things done. I always have a mental checklist and I am constantly finding tasks to accomplish to check off that list.

It takes a lot for me to accept that the floors won’t be tidy like I like, or that dishes stay in the sink a little longer, or that laundry remains unfolded.

But this time will pass. And the temporary chaos of my home will pass.
These moments of humility are good.

So if you are in a stage of chaos at home and wondering what to make a priority, know that showing love to those little humans (or big) around you is far more important for their ultimate growth and development.
They will remember the hugs and affection and books being read (or at the very least they will remember the sense of being loved).
And hopefully they won’t remember the mess or the chaos.
And at the very least, you can rest assured that there are worse moms (and dads) out there than you!
