We'd like to share some crazy statistics about cats:

🐾Cats are highly prolific breeders. Females can reach sexual maturity and become pregnant as early as 4 months of age (they're still babies!!!) and litters range between 3 to 5 kittens. Queens can yield 1 to 3 litters per year.
😮Uncontrolled feline breeding leads to very rapid and exponential growth. Within a single year, one unspayed female producing 3 litters can result in exponential expansion—the original cat and her immediate litters can generate well over 100 new offspring in just 24 months.
❓Fun fact that most people don't know: Momma cats can go into heat as early as 2 weeks after having a litter of kittens and get pregnant while still nursing a newborn litter. Hence, prolific reproduction and exponential numbers of offspring.

Humane Tomorrow also has a program called Catalyst where we will provide spay/neuter certificates to community members wanting to do their part to be responsible and help control pet overpopulation. For information email [email protected].
